Car & Classic – Wallingford Car Rally 2022
Dear friends. I had great pleasure in attending the above rally with my 1935 Rover saloon car, along with a friend and his MG. I have attended this event for several years now, and it is probably my favourite. Congratulations on first class organisation, but with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Thanks should also go to the people of Wallingford for putting up with the traffic disruption of the parade in such a good humoured and understanding way.I am attaching a couple of pictures taken at this year’s show, one of myself dressed as Lord Fauntleroy-Pratt, and my friend as Wing Commander Dancey. Could I suggest that you encourage people to dress in period costume for future events? A good many people who attend the event do not own a vintage or classic vehicle for a variety of reasons, but possibly might like to enter into the spirit of the event by dressing up. I have been to events where ‘period’ dress is encouraged for both exhibitors and spectators, and everyone has a wonderful time as a result. The outifts themselves are really fascinating to see, with all sorts of different eras on show. I hope you understand this suggestiion is in no way a criticism of the way the show was handled, it is purely a suggestion you might like to consider. Just would like to express my thanks to all who helped in the staging of today’s car rally.I attend quite a few car rallies throughout the year but the Wallingford Event is the one not to miss!!The whole event from registration to the show ground was marshaled superbly and the combination of good weather/good food facilities/good show layout were truly excellent.
Thank you all for giving us old car owners such a great day out and of course hope you raised loads for your chosen charities!! See you next year.

I have e-mailed separately to the rally website on behalf of Deux Chevaux Blancs but thank you for an excellent day out yesterday. There’s clearly a huge amount of work goes into organising it – what a great variety of vehicles. We were also very impressed with your attention to detail in ordering the one sunny day of the month! All our members who attended want to come back next year.
Superb event today, amazing turnout of vehicles. That black Dodge Charger was immense – really wanted to see it up close, but by the time we got round it had gone. Well done to Mark and team for a great event.

Sunday was great, it all looked fantastic and ran like clockwork great team effort well done to all of you organising it! I heard several people say how much the day has grown over the years and were really impressed.
